To the Bride & Groom

To Sunil:

Dear Brother,

You truly are the best big brother a girl could ever ask for.  I am so happy that you have found your other, better half J

You are my best friend and there is no one else in the world who deserves all the happiness in the world more than you do.   Saba is a the perfect fit for you and our family and I couldn’t be happier to call her my big sis!  So excited about everything that is to come!  I love you both very much.

To Saba:

What can I say about Saba that most of you don’t already know? She’s not just my sister; she’s one of my best friends. She’s the kind of person who sees humor in many situations. She’s one of the few who has always been there to listen to me rant and rave about everything and nothing. She’s beautiful inside and out. I am so blessed and grateful to be her brother. She’s truly a caring loving person who cares about her family and friends and goes above and beyond to be there for them in time of need. Even though I am older brother, I see you as my role model. You truly are a super woman. You manage to excel at work, make time to pray, volunteer at Jamat khana and spend time with Mom dad and snow. My sister you are such a selfless person and I truly admire that.

Seems like yesterday when I would barge into your room and beg you to critique my research papers. How can I forget those long nights when we would just sit around in the living room and talk about our days back home in Karachi Pakistan. All I can say is time flies. Feels like yesterday when we gather around your room and discuss all the wedding planning details – oh wait! that really was yesterday. But in all seriousness I will miss you a lot Saburi you are more than a sister to me, you’ve been there for me through thick and thin. I would disclose all my secrets to you and ask for your advice in all facets of life.

Looking back in time I remember how you used to have a huge obsession with Barbie dolls and how much you cherished them as a kid. Well the day is here where I say good bye to my beloved sister who will look absolutely gorgeous as a bride and send her off to marry her other half.

Sunil you’ve become an integral part of our family in the last year and I couldn’t be happier for my sister that she chose to be with someone like you. I’m proud to call you my brother in law and as a brother I am sure my sister is in good hands.

Like all things in life, you get out of a marriage what you put into it. You’ve built your relationship on the most solid of foundations that is pure love and this is the beginning of your own happily ever after. This is also when the real work begins. All the little everyday things add up to a lifetime of happiness through both the good and the bad. I wish you nothing but happiness, and may God bless you in giving you a marriage more beautiful than your wedding.

From Saba’s Brother,
